Musician, Composer, Performer
I play and write music. Electric guitar is my primary instrument, now along with the Vietnamese đàn bầu (traditional monochord). I also sing and play the đàn nguyệt (two-stringed lute) and learn the shakuhachi (japanese flute)
I see each music as a language, and each instrument as a voice.
The best part about it is that you can make up new languages and use just any voice to speak them.
From jazz to Vietnamese traditional, from classical to free-improvised noise, I only look for a way to convey meaning and emotions.

About Sylvain
Born 1983, growing up in France, Germany and Italy, I studied engineering at École Polytechnique, Télécom Paris and IRCAM before switching to music.
After a year at Berklee College of Music, I started playing and composing jazz while arranging and comping for singers.
I was drifting towards free improv and noise music, when I moved to Việt Nam and met the đàn bầu.
There I learnt and performed traditional music while experimenting with this new instrument.
Back in Paris started an eventful start-up journey where we bought out a sheet music platform and turned it into a video network for amateur musicians.
I am currently focusing on learning the shakuhachi while starting new music projects.
